Site Audit in Sparkforge: Track Domain Power, Backlinks, and Technical SEO

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

A Site Project in Sparkforge tracks one domain's SEO health: domain power, backlinks, organic traffic, technical issues, and Google Search Console data. Run on-page audits per URL (40/month) or full site crawls (50,000 pages/month across up to 4 sites).

Site Projects are how Sparkforge groups SEO data for a single domain. One project covers the dashboard metrics, GSC integration, on-page audits, and full-site crawls for that domain. Up to 4 active site projects per account.

What a Site Project shows

Once you add a domain, Sparkforge populates these columns:

  • Domain Power: authority score, useful for benchmarking ranking potential.
  • Backlinks: total inbound links and referring domains.
  • Organic Traffic: estimated monthly visits from search.
  • Site Health: percentage score from the most recent audit.
  • Issues: count of errors, warnings, and notices the audit found.
  • GSC Performance: clicks, impressions, CTR, and rank, if Google Search Console is linked.

Add a Site Project

  1. Open Sites > SEO > Site Projects.
  2. Click New Site Project and enter the domain (for example, https://www.example.com).
  3. Optional but recommended: click Connect Google Search Console, sign in with the Google account that owns the verified property, and link it.
  4. Wait a moment for the initial fetch. Some metrics show as – until the first audit runs.
  5. Click Launch Advanced SEO to open the full dashboard for that site.

Google Search Console integration

Linking GSC pulls in real ranking data — no manual keyword entry. Sparkforge imports up to 10,000 keywords per site (clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) and up to 2,000 pages by impression count.

In the advanced SEO interface, open Site Metrics > GSC Performance and filter by date, query, page, country, or device. A useful filter: position 5–15 with high impressions — those are the keywords closest to a top-3 jump.

GSC linking does not consume credits. It uses one of your 4 GSC project slots.

On-page audits

On-page audits score a single URL against a target keyword. Use them on landing pages, money pages, or any post you want to rank.

  1. In advanced SEO, open Content > On-Page Audit.
  2. Enter the URL and one or more target keywords.
  3. Click Run Audit.

Results show a Content Score, Technical Score, and recommendations grouped by content, technical, and structure. Compare your page to competitor averages, fix issues in your CMS, then re-run.

Quota: 1 credit per audited page (regardless of keyword count). 40 credits per month. Re-auditing burns another credit.

Full site audits

Site audits crawl the whole domain and surface technical issues. New site projects often run an initial crawl automatically.

  1. From Launch Advanced SEO, open Site Audit.
  2. Click Create New Audit Project and set the domain.
  3. Configure max pages to crawl (for example, 5,000), crawl frequency (manual or scheduled), and any exclusions like /admin.
  4. Start the audit.

The crawler returns a Site Health score and three buckets: errors (critical), warnings (moderate), and notices (minor). Quota: 1 page credit per page crawled, 50,000 pages per month across all sites, 4 active audit slots.

AI Recommendations

After an audit, AI Recommendations can auto-fix some issues — title rewrites, alt text, internal link suggestions, meta descriptions. Each suggestion costs 1 credit, with 500 credits per month.

Always review fixes before applying. AI rewrites should match your brand voice, and meta descriptions should pull from your real positioning, not generic copy.

Practical workflow

  • Check the Site Projects dashboard weekly. Catch ranking drops and new issues early.
  • Run on-page audits on your top 10 revenue pages quarterly. Re-audit after fixes.
  • Schedule site crawls monthly with sensible page limits and exclusions to avoid burning credits.
  • Use GSC data to find position 5–15 keywords — those are the cheapest wins.
  • Different SEO tools report different numbers for backlinks and traffic. Trust trends over absolute values.

Troubleshooting

  • Site won't crawl: check robots.txt, the sitemap, and the max-pages limit.
  • Data isn't refreshing: hard-refresh the advanced SEO interface and re-check after a few minutes.
  • GSC won't link: the property in GSC must match the exact domain (with or without www) and you need verified access.
  • AI Recommendations greyed out: the site may not be compatible, or you've hit the slot limit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sites can I audit at once?
Up to 4 active site projects per account. Each can have full crawls and GSC integration enabled.
What is the on-page audit quota?
40 credits per month. One credit per audit per page, regardless of how many keywords you enter. Re-auditing the same page costs another credit.
Does linking Google Search Console cost credits?
No. GSC linking uses one of your 4 GSC project slots but does not consume audit or AI credits.
How often should I run a full site audit?
Monthly is reasonable for most sites. Set sensible page limits and exclude folders like /admin to avoid burning the 50,000-page monthly crawl budget.
Why do backlink counts differ between Sparkforge and other SEO tools?
Each platform crawls and scores differently. Use the trend over time, not the absolute number, when comparing across tools.
