Configure Searchable Fields in Sparkforge
Sparkforge admins choose which fields are searchable for contacts, opportunities, and custom objects. Changes apply globally — every search bar in the platform respects the new configuration.
Search in Sparkforge isn't fixed to a hardcoded list of fields. Admins decide which fields are searchable for each object, and the change rolls out to every search bar in the platform at once.
What you can configure
Per-object search fields
Pick searchable fields for Contacts, Opportunities, and any Custom Object. Up to 6 fields per object for Contacts and Opportunities. Searches require at least 3 characters before they execute.
Required fields you can't remove
- Contacts: Contact Name, Phone Number, and Email Address are mandatory.
- Opportunities: Opportunity Name is mandatory.
Admin-only access
Only admins can edit searchable fields. Standard users can't change them.
Changes are global
Once saved, the new searchable-field set applies everywhere the object is searched. For Contacts, that includes:
- Contacts search bar
- Global search bar
- Creating a new message in Conversations
- Creating an appointment in Calendars
- Creating and updating tasks in Contacts
- Contacts and Additional Contacts fields in Opportunities
Plus these modules: Dashboard, Workflows, Forms, Surveys, Payments, Invoices, Documents & Contracts, SaaS, Affiliate Manager, Emails, Client Portal, and Custom Objects.
Regex search
Searchable text fields support pattern matching:
*abc— records ending inabc*abc*— records containingabcabc*— records starting withabc
Regex doesn't work on contact names, phone numbers, monetary values, or numeric fields.
How to update searchable fields
- Open the sub-account.
- Go to Settings > Custom Fields.
- Click the kebab menu (3 dots) in the top-right.
- Click Edit searchable fields.
- Pick the object you're updating.
- Mark the fields that should be searchable.
- Save and confirm.
The new configuration is active immediately for every user in the account.
