How to Update SEO for a Sparkforge Blog Post

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Update SEO on a Sparkforge blog post in three places: when creating the post, on the publish screen inside the editor, or from the blog list using the Update SEO Details action in the dropdown.

SEO fields control how your blog post shows up in search results. Sparkforge gives you three places to set or update them.

1. When you create a new blog post

The new-post flow walks you through SEO Title, Post Description, Cover Image, and alt text before publish. Filling these in at creation is the cleanest path.

2. On the editor publish screen

  1. Open the post in the editor.
  2. Click Publish (or Update Settings if already published).
  3. Edit SEO Title, Post Description, and Cover Image.

Cover image supports up to 10MB.

3. From the blog list view

  1. Go to Sites > Blogs > [your blog site].
  2. Find the post and open the action dropdown (three dots).
  3. Click Update SEO Details.
  4. Adjust fields and save.

Which SEO fields actually matter

  • SEO Title: aim for 50-60 characters. This is what searchers see.
  • Post Description: 140-160 characters. Search engines often truncate longer.
  • Cover Image alt text: describe the image for accessibility and image search.
  • Slug: short, keyword-relevant, hyphen-separated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I update SEO after a blog post is published?
Yes. Use either the Update Settings button in the editor or the Update SEO Details action from the blog list view's three-dot menu.
What's the maximum cover image size?
Cover images support up to 10MB. Use a compressed JPG or WebP under 200KB for the best page-load performance.
Can I change the post slug after publishing?
No. Slug, category, keywords, and author are locked once a post is published. Set them carefully before going live.
How long should the SEO title be?
50-60 characters is the sweet spot. Google truncates longer titles in search results, so keep the keyword and brand inside that range.
