How to Migrate from FirstPromoter to Sparkforge Affiliate Manager

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Export your affiliate list from FirstPromoter as a CSV, format it to match the Sparkforge sample, and upload it through the Affiliate Manager's Add menu.

If you are running affiliates in FirstPromoter, you can move them into the Sparkforge Affiliate Manager in three steps. The migration keeps your affiliate roster intact so you can reassign them to new campaigns and continue paying commissions without rebuilding the list.

Step 1: Export your affiliate list from FirstPromoter

  1. Log into the FirstPromoter dashboard.
  2. Open the Promoters tab.
  3. Click Export and download the CSV.

Step 2: Format the CSV for Sparkforge

Open the exported file and align the columns with the Sparkforge sample import file. Required fields are first name, last name, and email. Remove or rename columns FirstPromoter exports that Sparkforge does not use.

Step 3: Import the CSV into the Affiliate Manager

  1. Open the Affiliate Manager under Marketing.
  2. Go to the Affiliates section, click Add, and choose Upload Affiliate.
  3. Upload the formatted CSV and click Next.
  4. Confirm the field mapping and finish the import.

After the import

Imported affiliates land in your CRM and can be assigned to existing or new campaigns. Set up campaigns first so newly imported affiliates can be enrolled in the right commission structure right away. Workflow actions can also automate enrollment going forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What CSV columns does Sparkforge require for affiliate imports?
First name, last name, and email are required. Other columns are optional. Match the Sparkforge sample CSV exactly to avoid import errors.
Will historical commission data carry over from FirstPromoter?
No. Only the affiliate roster moves with the CSV. Historical commission and payout history stays in FirstPromoter records.
Can I import affiliates and assign them to campaigns in one step?
The CSV upload creates the affiliate records first. Once imported, assign them to campaigns from the Affiliate Manager or use a workflow action to automate enrollment.
What happens to the unique referral links my affiliates were using?
Sparkforge issues new referral links per campaign after import. Notify affiliates of their new links so they can update any shared posts or pages.
