How to Track Pageviews in Google Analytics 4 for Sparkforge Funnels and Sites

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

In GA4, create a property, set up a Web data stream pointing at your funnel or site URL, and paste the gtag.js code (or Google Tag Manager) into the Sparkforge funnel or site head section.

GA4 records pageviews on Sparkforge funnels and websites once the property is created and the tracking snippet is installed. The flow takes six steps inside Google Analytics plus one paste into Sparkforge.

Steps in Google Analytics

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Open Admin Settings.
  3. Create Property. Name the property something recognizable (your business or site name).
  4. Open Data Streams from the left menu.
  5. Pick Web and enter the URL of the funnel or site to track. Click Create Stream.
  6. Copy the gtag.js snippet Google generates, or use Google Tag Manager.

Add gtag.js to your Sparkforge funnel or site

Paste the snippet into the funnel or site's tracking code area, inside the <head> section. Sparkforge has dedicated fields for global head and footer scripts — use the head field for gtag.js so it loads before the page renders.

Verify it works

  • Open the funnel or site in an incognito tab.
  • In GA4, open the Realtime report.
  • Confirm your visit appears as an active user within 30 seconds.

If the realtime report stays empty, double-check the snippet is inside the <head> tag and the funnel or site has been published since the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I paste the GA4 snippet in Sparkforge?
In the funnel or website settings, paste it into the head tracking code field. The script loads on every page automatically.
Should I use gtag.js or Google Tag Manager?
Use gtag.js if GA4 is the only tag you need. Use Tag Manager if you plan to add Facebook Pixel, conversion tracking, or other scripts — it manages all of them in one container.
Why don't I see pageviews after install?
Republish the funnel or site after pasting the snippet. Check that the snippet sits inside the head tag and the GA4 Measurement ID matches the property you created.
Do I need a separate property per funnel or site?
Not necessarily. One GA4 property can hold multiple data streams — one per funnel or site — if you want them rolled up together. Use separate properties only when reporting must stay isolated.
