How to Create Service Calendars in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Service Calendars let service businesses publish each offering as its own bookable calendar, group them into a Service Menu, and collect payment at booking. Enable them under Calendar Settings → Preferences, then create the calendar with staff, duration, availability, forms, and payments.

A Service Calendar is a calendar type built for service businesses. Each calendar represents one service — cut, color, exam, detail — with its own staff, location, duration, and price. Group several Service Calendars together and they show up on a single Service Menu booking link.

Enable Service Calendars

  1. Open Calendar Settings.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Under In-App Preferences, toggle Service Menu on.

Service Calendar now appears under Create New Calendar. Only agency admins can flip this setting.

Create a Service Calendar

Step 1: Essentials

From your sub-account, go to Calendars → Calendar Settings, click Create Calendar, and pick Service Calendar. Fill in:

  • Service Name and Description.
  • Staff Assignment and Location — pick the team members who deliver the service. Each staff member's meeting location can be set to phone (sub-account number by default), address (sub-account address by default), a custom value, a dynamic Zoom link (Zoom integrated under My Profile → Calendar Settings → Video Conferencing), or Google Meet (Google integrated and Google Calendar set as the linked calendar).
  • URL/Slug, Duration, and Availability.

Step 2: Service Details

  • Service Logo — shown only on a single Service Calendar's booking widget. For Service Menus and Groups, use the Service Cover Image instead.
  • Link to Service Menu — select a group so the calendar can be added to a Service Menu (for example, group Hair with Hair Cut, Hair Spa, and Hair Coloring).
  • Appointment Invite Title — the event title shown in Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.
  • Event Color — syncs to Google Calendar.

Service Calendars are designed for in-person services, so Zoom and Google Meet locations don't apply at the calendar level here.

Step 3: Availability

  • Weekly Working Hours for the default repeating schedule.
  • Date Specific Hours for one-off availability or blackouts.
  • Service Duration, Service Interval, and Post-Buffer Time.
  • Minimum Scheduling Notice for how far ahead bookings close.
  • Date Range for how far into the future clients can book.

The slot interval is fixed at 15 minutes.

Step 4: Forms and Payments

Forms — use the default Name, Email, and Phone form, or build a custom form under Sites → Forms → Builder and pick it from the dropdown. You can toggle and customize the consent checkbox. Custom forms apply to bookings made directly on a Service Calendar; bookings made through a Service Menu use the default form.

Confirmation Page — show a thank-you message or redirect to a URL.

Payments — with a payment gateway integrated, set the amount and Sparkforge collects it during booking.
