How to Create a Blog in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

To create a Sparkforge blog, go to Sites > Blog, click create, set the name, attach a domain (or subdomain), add a slug and SEO description, and customize the layout, card view, and post style.

You create a blog from the Sites section of your sub-account. The setup takes a couple of minutes — name, domain, slug, description, then layout.

Create the blog

  1. Go to Sites > Blog.
  2. Click to create a new blog and fill in:
    • Name of the blog.
    • Domain the blog will live on.
    • Slug (optional — typically /blog).
    • Description — aim for around 250 characters for SEO.

URL structure depending on domain type

Root domain (abc.com)

  • Slug: usually /blog — the blog home renders at abc.com/blog. If a page already exists at that slug, Sparkforge appends a unique parameter.
  • Post: abc.com/post/post-name
  • Category: abc.com/blog/category/category-name
  • Tag: abc.com/blog/tag/tag-name
  • Author: abc.com/blog/author/author-name

Subdomain (blog.abc.com)

  • No slug required.
  • Post: blog.abc.com/post-name
  • Category: blog.abc.com/category/category-name
  • Tag: blog.abc.com/tag/tag-name
  • Author: blog.abc.com/author/author-name

After save

You'll land on the list view where you can create new posts and edit the blog site itself.

Style the blog

From the list view, click Edit the Blog Site to control how it looks. Options include:

  • Layout designs for the blog home and post pages.
  • Card view — what shows for each post in the listing.
  • Style controls for image, post body, tags, heading, title, description, author, and publish date.

The same editor lets you create new posts and delete the blog when you're done with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a separate domain for my blog?
No. You can run the blog on your root domain (with a slug like /blog) or on a subdomain like blog.yourdomain.com. Subdomains skip the slug entirely.
What if a page already exists at /blog?
Sparkforge appends a unique parameter so you don't get a collision. Cleaner option: pick a different slug or remove the existing page.
How long should the blog description be?
Around 250 characters. That's a good fit for the meta description Google shows in search results.
Can I customize the post page after creating the blog?
Yes. From Sites > Blogs, click the blog name and choose Edit the Blog Site to control layout, cards, and the styling of every blog element.
