Award Leaderboard Points with Community Workflow Triggers in Sparkforge
Sparkforge workflows can fire when a community member's leaderboard level changes and grant gamification points to specific groups. Set group filters carefully — if a contact is not a member of the target group, the workflow action fails.
Sparkforge workflows can listen for community leaderboard changes and award points back to members in specific groups. This is the practical way to automate engagement: a member completes a milestone, levels up, and the workflow rewards them on the leaderboard you designate.
Trigger: community group member leaderboard level changed
This trigger fires when a member's leaderboard level changes. Use filters to scope the trigger to a specific group, level, or both — otherwise the workflow runs on every level change everywhere.
Set up the trigger
- Open the workflow builder.
- Add the trigger User Group Gamification Level Changed.
- Add filters for the group and the level you care about.
- Save.
Use case: send a congratulations email and award bonus points when a member hits a new level inside a paid community.
Action: grant community group leaderboard points
Use this action anywhere in a workflow to award points to a specific group's leaderboard.
Configure the action
- Add the action Grant community group leaderboard points.
- Set the Points value.
- Pick the Group from the dropdown so only members of that group are awarded.
Important: if the contact is not a member of the selected group, the workflow execution fails. Add a group-membership filter earlier in the workflow if you want to skip non-members instead of erroring.
