Conversation AI Bot in Sparkforge: Modes, Training, and Setup

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Sparkforge Conversation AI bot replies to inbound messages on SMS, web chat, email, FB, and IG. It runs in OFF, Suggestive, or Auto-Pilot mode, trains on URLs and Q&A pairs, and supports General Support and Appointment Booking intents.

The Conversation AI bot handles inbound messages across your channels using your training data and conversation history. Open Response Info on any reply to see exactly which prior messages were used as context.

Bot modes

The bot has three modes at the sub-account level:

  • OFF (default) — bot doesn't reply, but training and bot trial stay active so you can test before launch.
  • Suggestive — drafts replies inside the message composer; your team sends as-is or edits first.
  • Auto-Pilot — bot replies to contacts directly on your behalf.

Guided Form quality

  • Varies question phrasing so it doesn't sound robotic.
  • Adjusts tone based on prior replies.
  • Refocuses off-topic answers without restarting the flow.

If you renamed standard CRM objects (e.g. Contacts to Clients), the bot UI uses your custom labels.

Form-Based bots: if Initial Message is set, the bot sends it as a welcome and starts the Guided Form on the contact's next reply. If Initial Message is blank, the flow starts on the first message.

Supported channels

  • SMS
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Instagram
  • Web Chat (SMS Chat)
  • Live Chat
  • Email

Pick channels under Settings > Conversation AI > Supported Channels.

Training the bot

Open Bot Training in your sub-account's Conversation AI settings. Two methods, both free:

  1. Web URLs and public links.
  2. Question and Answer pairs.

Bot intents

  • General Support / Q&A — answers from your training data.
  • Appointment Booking — asks a few customizable questions, then books on your calendar.

If a contact already has an active or confirmed appointment, the bot switches to General Support for that contact until the appointment closes or cancels.

Test before launch

The Bot Trial tab lets you select an intent and chat with the bot exactly as a contact would. Use the thumbs up/down on each reply to fine-tune answers and add FAQs to training.

Workflows + Conversation AI

Drop the Conversation AI action into any workflow to ask a specific question, branch on the reply, and route the contact through different paths based on what they say.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cap how many messages the bot sends before handing off?
Yes. Under Advanced Settings, set the maximum message count. When the bot hits that limit, it stops or transfers the conversation to a human.
Can I enable the bot for one channel and not others?
Yes. Channel-specific control lets you assign or disable the bot per channel from each channel's settings or in the multi-bot view.
How do I add the AI chatbot to my website?
Build the bot, add Web Chat to its supported channels, and install the Sparkforge chat widget on your funnel or site. The AI is wired in automatically.
Can I rename the Contacts and Opportunities labels the bot shows?
Yes. Rename standard objects under Settings > Objects at the sub-account level and the bot UI reflects the new labels.
When does the Initial Message start the Guided Form flow?
If Initial Message is configured, the bot sends it first and starts the flow on the contact's next reply. If it's blank, the flow runs on the first message.
