WordPress Hosting Migration Guide for Sparkforge Agencies

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Agencies have three ways to migrate WordPress sites into Sparkforge: a one-click plugin, a manual .wpress upload, or white-glove migration handled by Sparkforge specialists.

Sparkforge agencies have three migration paths into WordPress hosting. Pick the one that matches the client’s site complexity and how hands-on you want to be.

Option 1: Plugin migration (recommended)

Best for: fast, non-technical migrations with minimal effort.

  1. Download the LC Migrator plugin. Click Download Plugin to grab the ZIP file.
  2. Upload the plugin to the source WordPress site. Sign in to its WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New, click Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, and click Install Now.
  3. Activate the plugin after install completes.
  4. Open LC Migrator in the WordPress sidebar (scroll if you don’t see it). Sign in with your Sparkforge credentials and pick the destination sub-account.
  5. Start the migration. Click Continue, select the destination Sparkforge site, check the box confirming the destination will be overwritten, and click Start Migration.
  6. Monitor progress. Migrations typically take 10–15 minutes for large sites. You can click Cancel Migration at any point before the final step.
  7. Verify completion. When you see Migration Completed, visit the migrated site to confirm.

Option 2: Manual migration with All-in-One

Best for: users comfortable with .wpress exports, or migrating from a backup.

  1. On the source WordPress site, install and activate All-in-One WP Migration.
  2. Export the site to a .wpress file.
  3. In Sparkforge, open the sub-account’s WordPress tab and click Import Your Existing Website.
  4. Click Choose File and upload the .wpress file (max 2 GB).
  5. Wait for the upload, then the site auto-deploys.

Heads up: manual import overwrites the destination site completely and does not support incremental updates.

Option 3: White-glove migration (agency-only)

Best for: complex migrations, large sites, and hands-off experiences. Only visible to agency owners.

  1. In Import Your Existing Website, click Request Help.
  2. Submit the request form with the source URL, current host, access credentials, target sub-account, and desired deadline.
  3. Sparkforge WordPress specialists review within one business day, ask for anything missing, and run the migration end-to-end.
  4. You receive an email when migration is complete.

The white-glove option is white-label — your client never sees it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which migration option is fastest?
The LC Migrator plugin. It is one-click, runs in 10–15 minutes for typical sites, and does not require .wpress exports.
What is the maximum size for a manual .wpress upload?
2 GB. Larger sites should use the plugin migration or request the white-glove option.
Will my client know I used the white-glove option?
No. White-glove is hidden from sub-accounts and surfaced only to agency owners, preserving the white-label experience.
Does the manual import preserve existing destination content?
No. The manual upload overwrites the destination site entirely and does not support incremental updates.
How long does white-glove migration take?
Sparkforge specialists review within one business day. Total time depends on site complexity but you receive an email confirmation when migration completes.
