Dedicated IP in Sparkforge Email: When and How to Use It
A dedicated IP gives you exclusive ownership of an email sender IP, which improves deliverability for high-volume senders (200K+ emails/month) and protects your sender reputation. $59/month, eligible accounts only.
A dedicated IP is an email sending IP address used only by your account. Mailbox providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) track sender reputation per IP. With a dedicated IP, your reputation rises and falls on your own sending behavior — not the actions of strangers sharing the same shared IP pool.
When to Get a Dedicated IP
Dedicated IPs make sense when you send a lot of email — usually hundreds of thousands per month, or anything over 200,000.
They also matter when you're tightening email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SSL) to defend against spoofing. Shared IPs can't isolate your authentication posture from other senders. A dedicated IP also reduces exposure to domain hijacking risks.
Benefits
Better deliverability
Gmail and Yahoo tend to favor email from established dedicated IPs. No bandwidth contention with other senders means faster, more predictable inbox placement.
Full control over sender reputation
Your sending habits, your warm-up, your reputation. Nothing another sender does affects your IP score.
Easier troubleshooting
If a deliverability problem shows up, you know it's yours. Diagnosing and fixing IP-level issues is straightforward when you're the only sender.
Stronger security
An additional layer of protection against domain hijacking, malware, and other threats targeting shared infrastructure.
Sending Tips
Reputation depends on consistent volume, not bursts. Pace your sends and ramp gradually — usually 24 hours between volume jumps. Sudden spikes from a low baseline can flag you as a spammer or get the IP blocklisted.
If your sending is sporadic, a dedicated IP can hurt you. The lulls drop your reputation. In that case, a shared IP — which rides on the steady traffic of other senders — is the better fit.
During warm-up, Sparkforge automatically splits your traffic 50/50 between the new dedicated IP and the old shared IP until the dedicated IP is established. This warm-up phase can run for a while, even after the IP is technically assigned.
Who Can Buy a Dedicated IP
Dedicated IPs are available for agencies on the $297/$2,970 and $497/$4,970 plans. Recommended minimum: 50,000 messages per week, with one dedicated IP per million messages sent monthly.
Agency eligibility
- Agency must have been established at least 14 days ago
Subaccount eligibility
- More than 10,000 contacts, or sent more than 50,000 emails in the last 10 days
- Belongs to an agency older than 14 days
- Has payment setup configured
- Agency has enabled dedicated IP purchase for subaccounts
Both agencies and eligible subaccounts can buy a dedicated IP if they're using Sparkforge Email as the email provider. Non-SaaS locations are eligible if the agency grants permission on the Agency Sub-accounts page.
Buy a Dedicated IP
- Open Agency Settings → Email Services.
- Click Dedicated Domain And IP in the Sparkforge Email section.
- Click Buy IP.
- In the modal, click Buy Now to confirm.
One IP is $59/month, charged to the agency. The agency can rebill subaccounts to recover the cost.
Manage Your Dedicated IP
Each sending domain shows a tag indicating whether it's on a Dedicated or Shared IP. A Dedicated IP can only be linked to a dedicated sending domain.
You can assign multiple dedicated IPs to a single domain. Outbound mail rotates through the assigned IPs round-robin, balancing the load.
Assign a dedicated IP to a domain
- Click the three-dot menu next to the domain and choose Assign IP.
- In the IP Assignment modal, pick the IP you want to assign.
