How Voicemail Drop Works in Sparkforge
Voicemail Drop drops a pre-recorded message when an outbound call hits voicemail. Sparkforge fires a brief setup call, then a delivery call that goes straight to voicemail to play your message.
Voicemail Drop is an outbound automation that leaves a pre-recorded voicemail the instant a call hits the recipient's voicemail box — no manual recording each time. It saves time, keeps messaging consistent, and lets agents move faster through call lists.
How the Two-Call Workflow Works
1. First call (0 seconds)
The system places an outbound call. This call is disconnected the moment the second call starts ringing. Its sole purpose is to keep the recipient's line momentarily busy.
- Not charged
- Not visible in your call logs in the UI
2. Second call (after 2 seconds)
The system fires a second call to the same number. Because the line is briefly tied up by call one, call two routes directly to voicemail. Your pre-recorded message plays immediately, with no manual intervention.
What the Recipient Sees
- A missed call notification (from the first call)
- A voicemail (from the second call) containing your recorded message
Call Handling Logic
Once the second call connects:
- If voicemail picks up — the system plays your pre-recorded message and ends the call automatically after delivery.
- If a human answers — the system ends the call immediately to avoid playing the recorded voicemail to a live person.
Why Voicemail Drop Matters
- Saves time — agents stop manually leaving voicemails after every missed call
- Consistent messaging — every contact hears the same well-crafted recording
- Higher productivity — agents move through call lists while messages drop automatically
- Professional follow-up — calls that go unanswered still get a polished response
