How to Add a Video Background in Sparkforge Website Builder
Sparkforge lets you set MP4 or WebM video as the background for any section, row, or column. Pick a scaling mode (Fit, Fill, Cover), set opacity, and toggle looping.
Sparkforge's website and funnel builder supports HTML5 video backgrounds (MP4 and WebM) on sections, rows, and columns. Use them for hero areas, product reels, or atmosphere — without slowing the page with extra plugins.
Enable a video background
- Select the section, row, or column.
- In the right-hand settings, change BG Media Type to Video.
- Pick the file from the Media Library.
- Click the preview icon to confirm playback in the browser.
Scaling modes
Fit
Scales the video to fit inside the area while keeping its aspect ratio. The whole video stays visible; you may see letterboxing if the ratios don't match.
Fill
Scales the video to cover the full area, cropping or stretching as needed. Good when full coverage matters more than seeing every pixel.
Cover
Scales the video to cover the area while keeping the aspect ratio. The video fills the space without distortion, but small empty bands can appear when ratios mismatch.
Background opacity
- None — fully opaque, nothing behind shows through.
- Light Fade — slight transparency, content behind shows faintly.
- Half Fade — 50% opacity for balanced layering.
- Heavy Fade — heavy transparency; the video sits as a subtle backdrop.
Looping
Toggle Video Loop on for continuous playback (good for hero loops). Turn it off if the clip should play once and stop — useful for short intros.
Tips
- Compress before upload. Background video should be short and small (a few seconds, under 5 MB) so mobile users aren't punished.
- WebM tends to be smaller than MP4 at similar quality; upload both if you want broad coverage.
- Always pair with a fallback color or image for browsers that block autoplay.
