Universal Elements in the Sparkforge Page Builder

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Universal Elements are single elements you save to Saved Assets in the Sparkforge Page Builder. Edit once, publish the affected pages, and every placed instance updates automatically across funnels, websites, blogs, webinars, and store pages.

Universal Elements let you design a single element once and reuse it across funnels, websites, blogs, webinars, and store pages — with every placed instance staying in sync. Edit the element once, publish the affected pages, and the change propagates.

What Universal Elements are

Universal Elements are single elements (buttons, icons, menus, logos, badges) saved to the Saved Assets library so they remain linked wherever they are placed. When you update a Universal Element and publish, all linked instances reflect the change.

What you get

  • Brand consistency — typography, colors, and styles stay aligned everywhere.
  • Faster builds — drag from Saved Assets instead of redesigning common elements.
  • Centralized updates — edit once and publish the affected pages.
  • Organized library — thumbnails and search make frequently used elements easy to find.
  • Team-friendly — collaborators build with approved patterns.

Universal Elements vs. Element Templates vs. Universal Sections

Use Universal Elements for small repeating items. Use Universal Sections for full reusable layout blocks like headers and footers.

How to create a Universal Element

  1. Open a page in the Page Builder (Funnel, Website, Blog, Webinar, or Store).
  2. Select the element you want to reuse — for example a button, image, icon, headline, or menu.
  3. Save as a Universal Element from the element's orange toolbar (Save icon) or from the Layers panel ... menu (Save as Universal Element).
  4. Give it a clear, searchable name like Button — Primary CTA.
  5. Confirm the save. The item appears in Saved Assets → Universal Elements with a thumbnail.

Placing and editing

Always place Universal Elements from the Saved Assets library so each instance stays linked. When you edit one, publish the affected pages to push the change live.

Place a Universal Element

  1. Open Add Elements → Saved Assets → Universal Elements.
  2. Search or browse, then drag the element onto the canvas.

Edit a Universal Element

  1. Select a placed Universal Element to adjust design or settings.
  2. Save your page changes.
  3. Publish the page so updates go live.

AI Page Revisions and Universal Elements

AI Page Revisions respect linked Universal Elements and focus changes on the targeted content. Use the post-revision summary to verify whether a linked element was changed. If you need a page-only variant, duplicate the Universal Element locally before revising. After a revision, review the change summary and publish global changes deliberately.

Managing your library

  • Browse and search via Add Elements → Saved Assets → Universal Elements.
  • Use consistent naming prefixes — Button —, Icon —, Nav —.
  • Delete cautiously. Removing a saved item detaches it from the library for future use; review pages that rely on it first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to publish for changes to be visible to visitors?
Yes. Saving keeps edits in the builder. Publishing the affected pages makes updates live.
Where do I find saved Universal Elements?
In the Page Builder, open Add Elements → Saved Assets → Universal Elements to browse thumbnails or search by name.
Can I rename or delete a Universal Element later?
You can rename anytime. Deleting removes the saved item from the library for future use; review pages that rely on it first.
What if I need a one-off variation on a single page?
Use an Element Template or create a local copy on that page so changes do not affect other instances.
How can I revert a recent change?
Use Version History on the affected page to restore a previous version, then republish.
