Why Tracking Code Doesn't Copy When You Clone a Page in Sparkforge
Sparkforge does not copy tracking code when you clone a funnel step or website page. This is intentional, since tracking pixels are page-specific and shared funnels would otherwise leak tracking across accounts.
When you clone a funnel step or duplicate a page in Sparkforge, the page builds, sections, and content carry over — but the tracking code field stays empty. This is by design.
Why tracking code is excluded from clones
Tracking pixels, GA tags, and conversion scripts are tied to specific pages and specific accounts. Copying them blindly into a clone causes two problems:
- Cross-page event pollution. A pixel from the original page firing on a cloned page means duplicated events, inflated conversion counts, and dashboards that lie to you.
- Cross-account leakage. Funnels and pages are routinely shared across sub-accounts and agencies. Carrying tracking code into another account would send another business's events to your pixel — or yours to theirs.
What to do after cloning
- Open the cloned page in the builder.
- Go to the page settings or tracking section.
- Paste the correct tracking snippet for the new page or account.
- Save and publish.
If you maintain the same pixel across many pages, keep the snippet in a password manager or shared note so you can drop it into clones consistently.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cloning copy any code at all?
Cloning copies layout, content, sections, and most builder settings. Tracking code, custom header/footer scripts, and account-specific configuration are excluded so they don't leak across pages or accounts.
Will my original page's pixel still fire after I clone?
Yes. The original page is unchanged. Only the new clone needs tracking code re-added.
Can I bulk-add the same pixel to many pages?
Not via the clone flow. Add the pixel manually to each page, or use a single tag manager container loaded site-wide if your setup supports it.
Does this apply to website pages and funnel steps both?
Yes. The same rule applies to funnel steps and standalone website pages.
