How to Sync a Dynamic Countdown Timer Across Sparkforge Emails and Websites

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge's Dynamic Timer creates a per-contact countdown that starts when the recipient opens the email. The same timer keeps counting down on the website, so the urgency carries from inbox to landing page.

The Dynamic Timer ties a countdown to each individual recipient. The clock starts when they open the email, and the same countdown stays in sync when they click through to the website. Useful for sales, event signups, product launches, and limited-availability offers where every contact gets their own urgency window.

How it works

The timer is contact-specific. The countdown begins on the recipient's email open, not on a global launch time. When they land on a Sparkforge funnel or website page that includes the same Dynamic Timer, the page reads the same expiration and continues counting from there. One urgency window, two surfaces.

Step 1: Create the timer in Email Builder

  1. Go to Marketing > Countdown Timers.
  2. Click Create a New Timer.
  3. Pick a timer design.
  4. Set the type to Dynamic Timer.
  5. Set the countdown duration and expiration logic.
  6. Click Save.

Step 2: Add the timer to a funnel or website page

  1. Open Funnels and Website Builder.
  2. Click Add > Countdown Timers.
  3. Pick the Dynamic Timer you just built.
  4. Drop it into the page section where it should appear.
  5. Save and publish the page.

Use cases

  • E-commerce sales — discount expires per contact, not on a global clock.
  • Event signups — registration countdowns personalized per recipient.
  • Product launches — synchronized timer in the launch email and on the landing page.
  • Limited availability — individualized urgency per visitor.

Expiration behavior

When the timer hits zero, you can configure a redirect to a different page or swap in alternate content. The timer doesn't disappear silently — it triggers a state change you control.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the dynamic timer start counting?
When the recipient opens the email. Each contact gets their own start time, so the urgency window is personal.
Does the timer stay synced on the website?
Yes. The funnel or website page reads the same expiration as the email, so a contact sees one continuous countdown across both surfaces.
Can I use different designs for different campaigns?
Yes. Pick a design when you create the timer. Build separate timers for separate campaigns with different visual styles.
What happens when the timer hits zero?
You configure the post-expiration behavior — redirect to a different page or swap to alternate content. The timer doesn't disappear without action.
Where do I create a Dynamic Timer?
Under Marketing > Countdown Timers. Set the type to Dynamic Timer to enable per-contact countdown logic.
