How to Show a Popup on Page Load in Sparkforge Funnels and Websites
Configure a Sparkforge funnel or website page to launch a popup automatically a set number of seconds after page load. Open the page editor, click Popup Settings, choose Delay, set the timer, and save.
A page-load popup fires automatically a few seconds after a visitor lands on the page — no click or scroll required. Use it for time-sensitive offers, lead magnets, or welcome messages that have to land before the visitor bounces.
What a page-load popup is good for
- Email list capture from cold traffic.
- Limited-time discount or trial offers.
- Welcome messages with a CTA above the fold.
- Funnel conversion lift on landing pages where the visitor came from a paid ad.
How to set it up
- From the sub-account dashboard, open Sites and pick Funnels or Websites.
- Open the funnel or site, then click the specific step or page where the popup should appear.
- Click the blue Edit button to launch the page editor.
- In the top toolbar, click the Popup Settings icon.
- In the right panel, scroll to the Show Popup On dropdown and pick Delay.
- Use the slider to set how many seconds after page load the popup fires (2–5 seconds is a reasonable starting point).
- Click Save or Publish in the top-right.
Delay vs. exit intent
The Show Popup On dropdown also has an Exit option. Pick that if you want the popup to fire when the cursor moves toward the browser toolbar, signaling the visitor is about to leave. Delay and Exit are mutually exclusive on the same popup.
Tips
- Test the popup on mobile — page-load popups can hurt mobile UX if they cover the whole screen.
- Keep the offer relevant to the page. Generic newsletter signups convert poorly.
- Use a short delay (2–3 seconds) so visitors register the page before the popup interrupts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I show the popup only once per visit?
No. The popup fires every time the page loads while the visitor is on the page. There's no built-in once-per-session limiter on the page-load trigger.
Can I trigger the popup on exit intent instead?
Yes. Pick Exit on the Show Popup On dropdown. It fires when the cursor moves toward the browser toolbar, suggesting the visitor is leaving.
Does this work on both Funnels and Websites?
Yes. The setup is identical on both — same Popup Settings panel, same delay slider, same Save flow.
What if the popup is opened manually before the delay finishes?
If something else triggers the popup (button click, exit intent on a different element), the automatic delay-fire is canceled so the same popup doesn't appear twice in one page view.
