How to Set Up Recurring Tasks in Sparkforge
Recurring tasks in Sparkforge auto-create on a schedule you set — hourly through yearly — with options for end dates, occurrence counts, and overdue handling. Edit one instance or the whole series, and restore deletions if you change your mind.
Recurring tasks save you from manually recreating the same task every week or month. Set the cadence once, and Sparkforge generates the next instance on schedule.
What you can configure
Frequency
Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Pick what matches the workflow.
End date
- Never — the series runs indefinitely.
- Custom Date — stop recurring after a specific date.
- After a set number of occurrences — cap the series at N runs.
Overdue behavior
Enable Create Even if Previous Task is Overdue to keep the schedule on rails when prior tasks are still incomplete. Without it, the next instance waits until the prior one closes.
Create a recurring task
- Open the Add New Task modal from the Tasks, Contacts, or Companies page.
- Fill in the task name, description, and any extra details.
- Toggle Recurring Task on.
- Set Repeats Every (e.g., every 1 day, every 2 weeks).
- Choose an Ends On option: Never, Custom Date, or After a set number of occurrences.
- Optionally enable Create even if previous is overdue.
- Set the Assignee and Contact if relevant.
- Click Save.
Note: the next task is created at the scheduled time based on the original creation date — not immediately after the prior task closes.
Convert an existing task to recurring
Open the task and toggle on Recurring Task. The same frequency and end-date options apply.
Edit and delete recurring tasks
Edit
You can apply changes to all future occurrences or just a single instance.
Delete
Delete the entire series or just one occurrence — the rest stay on the schedule.
Restore
Deleted tasks can be restored. Note: if you restore a task that was deleted across a date range, the missed recurrences during that range are not backfilled.
