How to Manage Tasks Across Contacts and Opportunities in Sparkforge
Sparkforge's unified task panel lets you create, filter, and edit tasks (including recurring tasks) from inside any Contact or Opportunity record using the same interface. Enable it in Labs to switch on the new layout without affecting existing tasks or workflows.
Sparkforge's unified task panel works the same way from a Contact record or an Opportunity record. You get one form, one filter set, and one set of recurring options no matter where you open it.
What unified task management does
Open a Contact or an Opportunity, click the Tasks icon, and you see the same panel: title, description, due date, assignee, recurring toggle. The interface stays consistent across modules so you stop relearning task tools every time you switch context.
Turn it on in Labs
Unified task management is opt-in per subaccount. Enable it under Labs to activate the new layout. Existing tasks are not migrated or modified — they appear in the new panel with no data loss. You can disable the toggle at any time to revert.
Open the task panel
- Go to Contacts in the left menu and open Smart Lists.
- Click any contact to open the full record.
- Click the Tasks icon in the top-right of the contact view.
- For deals, open Opportunities, click into a card, and use the same Tasks icon.
Create a task
- Click + Add Task in the panel.
- Enter a clear title (required).
- Click Add description for context or instructions.
- Pick a due date and time.
- Choose the assignee from Assign to.
- Click Save, or Save and Add Another for bulk entry.
Set up a recurring task
Toggle Recurring tasks on inside the task form. Configure the cadence under Repeats every (days, weeks, months) and set Ends on to Never, a specific date, or after N repetitions. Enable the option to create the next task even when the previous one is overdue if you want the cadence to keep firing regardless of completion.
Filter, sort, and edit
- Filter: narrow by assignee or status using the filter icon.
- Sort: order by due date or creation date, ascending or descending.
- Edit or delete: use the three-dot menu next to any task.
What it does not change
Automations, workflows, and the underlying task data are unchanged. The update is interface-only — triggers and actions tied to tasks continue to fire as configured.
