How Local Presence Dialing Works in Sparkforge
Local Presence Dialing automatically selects an outbound caller ID that matches a contact's area code or region. Enable it in Sub-account Settings under Phone Numbers > Advanced Settings > Voice Calls.
Local Presence Dialing improves outbound answer rates by matching your caller ID to the contact's area code. If you have a number in their area code or their region, the system uses it automatically. If not, it falls back to your sub-account's default number.
How number selection works
When you place an outbound call, Sparkforge checks the contact's area code against your pool of purchased and verified numbers in real time:
- Exact area code match — the call uses that number as the caller ID.
- Same region, different area code — Sparkforge uses a regional match. For example, if you're calling someone with a 214 (Dallas) area code and you only have a 972 (also Dallas), the 972 is used.
- No regional match — the sub-account's default caller ID is used as the fallback.
What you should know
- US and Canada only. Other regions aren't supported.
- Verified Caller IDs count. Their area codes are factored in alongside owned numbers.
- Works with your own Twilio account.
- Sub-account toggle. Enable or disable per sub-account, but not per individual user.
How to enable Local Presence Dialing
- Go to Sub-account Settings.
- Open Phone Numbers > Advanced Settings.
- Open Voice Calls > Outbound Call > Default Phone Number for Outbound Calls.
- Toggle Enable Local Presence Dialing to On.
Override on a single call
Before dialing, click Change at the top of the dialer and pick a different number. After the call, the system reverts to Local Presence Dialing automatically. To keep using the manually picked number, disable Local Presence Dialing.
Why it raises answer rates
- Local caller IDs feel familiar, so contacts are more willing to pick up.
- Spam analytics engines flag fewer calls because the patterns look regional.
- You stop manually swapping numbers before each call.
