How to Create Equipment to Prevent Double-Bookings in Sparkforge
Equipment represents shared physical resources (tables, chairs, projectors) that can only support one appointment at a time. Enable Equipment in Calendar Preferences, then create entries with quantity, out-of-service count, and linked calendars to block conflicting bookings.
Equipment in Sparkforge represents shared, limited-quantity resources that services rely on — massage tables, dental chairs, projectors, treatment beds. Tying Equipment to calendars prevents the system from booking the same resource twice.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Rooms and Equipment?
Rooms are physical spaces (offices, studios). Equipment is shared tools or devices (chairs, tables, machines). Both block double-bookings when tied to calendars.
Can the same Equipment serve multiple calendars?
Yes. Equipment can link to multiple calendars, but each unit can only be in one appointment at a time.
How do I represent multiple identical units?
Create one Equipment entry and set the Total Quantity. Three identical massage tables = one entry named "Massage Table" with quantity 3.
What happens if I delete Equipment that's tied to upcoming appointments?
Deletion removes the availability constraints, which can cause scheduling issues. Review connected calendars first.
Is there a usage report for Equipment?
No native report. You can review appointments tied to Equipment manually through the calendars.
