How to Build an Exit-Intent Pop-Up in Sparkforge Funnels and Websites

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge has exit-intent pop-ups built into the funnel and website builder. Add a form to a pop-up, set the trigger to Exit, and it fires when a desktop visitor moves toward the close button.

Exit-intent pop-ups fire the moment a visitor's cursor moves toward the browser bar, giving you one last chance to capture the lead. Sparkforge bakes this directly into the funnel and website builder, so you don't need a third-party tool.

What an exit-intent pop-up does

It tracks cursor position. When the cursor breaks toward the top of the screen (toward the close button or address bar), the pop-up appears. Use it to surface a discount, a newsletter sign-up, or any last-chance offer before the visitor leaves.

Step 1: Create the form

Pop-ups need something to collect. Build the form first under Sites > Forms, set your fields (name, email, phone), and save it.

Step 2: Build the pop-up on a page

  1. Go to Sites > Funnels or Sites > Websites and open the page where the pop-up should appear.
  2. Click Edit to open the builder.
  3. In the top nav of the builder, click Pop-up Settings.
  4. Click Add Row, then Add Element, and drop in a Form element.
  5. Use the form picker to select the form you built in Step 1.
  6. Style the row, column, and form to match your brand.

Step 3: Set the trigger to Exit

  1. Click the Pop Up Settings gear icon at the top of the pop-up.
  2. In the sidebar, scroll to Show Pop-up On.
  3. Choose Exit. None disables the pop-up; Delay turns it into a timed pop-up instead.

Step 4: Test it

  1. Save and publish the page.
  2. Open the live page in a desktop browser.
  3. Move your cursor up toward the close button.
  4. Confirm the pop-up appears, then tweak styling as needed.

Desktop only

Exit-intent uses cursor tracking, so it does not fire on mobile. Touchscreens have no cursor to track. For mobile engagement, use a delayed pop-up or scroll-based trigger instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does exit-intent work on mobile?
No. Exit-intent relies on mouse cursor movement, which mobile devices don't have. Use a delay or scroll trigger for mobile.
Can I use exit-intent on a non-Sparkforge website?
No. The exit-intent trigger only works on funnels and websites built inside Sparkforge.
What is the difference between Exit, Delay, and None?
Exit fires when the cursor moves toward the browser bar. Delay fires after a set time. None disables the pop-up entirely.
Can different pages use different pop-up forms?
Yes. Each funnel step or website page has its own pop-up settings, so you can assign a different form to each.
Can I preview before publishing?
Yes. Use the page preview inside the builder to confirm the trigger, layout, and form behavior before pushing live.
