Hosted Video Player for Funnels in Sparkforge
Sparkforge's hosted video player streams uploaded videos up to 4GB inside funnel pages with quality selection, playback controls, and visitor tracking. Encoding the video enables multi-quality playback and analytics.
The hosted video player runs inside any Sparkforge funnel page. Upload a file up to 4GB in any major format, encode it, and the player handles 480p/720p/1080p/Auto switching, playback speed, picture-in-picture, full-screen, and seek control.
Add a Hosted Video to a Funnel
- Open the funnel page and drop a Video element where you want the player.
- Click the element, open Video Settings on the left, and set Video Type to Hosted Video.
- Click Select Video to open the Media Library.
- Upload the source file if it isn't already there. Any mainstream format works as long as it's under 4GB.
- Double-click the file to start encoding.
Encoding is required for multi-quality playback and for video tracking analytics. Raw videos play at one quality only. Anything still processing after 24 hours is automatically marked failed — re-select the video to retry.
Playback Controls
Autoplay
Browsers (iOS, Safari, Chrome, Android, Firefox, Edge) require autoplaying videos to start muted. This is enforced by the browser, not Sparkforge. Chrome uses the viewer's Media Engagement Index to decide whether autoplay-with-sound is allowed on desktop. Manually played videos start unmuted.
Other toggles
- Allow Play/Pause — show or hide the play button.
- Allow Playback Speed Control — 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 2x.
- Show Pending Time — display remaining duration.
- Show Full-Screen Toggle — let viewers expand to full screen.
- Show Progress Bar — also controls whether viewers can seek.
Redirect Unregistered Visitors
If a viewer hits the video page directly without filling out an opt-in form, video tracking can't tie progress to a contact — workflows would create blank leads. Toggle Redirect Unregistered Visitors on and pick a step or page with an opt-in form. The visitor fills out the form, then returns to the video. The redirect won't work for visitors who block cookies.
Troubleshooting: Encoded Video Not Selectable
If the Media Library shows the video as encoded but it won't attach to a funnel:
- Wait a few minutes — encoding sometimes finishes after the status flips.
- Refresh the Media Library and re-open the funnel editor.
- Re-encode by reselecting the file.
- Confirm the source file is under 4GB.
