How to Migrate a WordPress Site to Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Use the LC Migrator plugin for a one-click WordPress migration with zero downtime, or fall back to All-in-One WP Migration for manual export and upload.

Sparkforge offers two WordPress migration paths. The LC Migrator plugin is the new one-click option. The All-in-One WP Migration plugin still works as a fallback.

Option 1: LC Migrator (One-Click)

The LC Migrator plugin runs the migration in the background while your original site stays live. What used to take hours now takes minutes.

Set Up the Destination

  1. Open Sites > WordPress.
  2. Click Activate WordPress.
  3. Click the WordPress site card, choose From blank, pick a template, click Create, fill in details, and click Create WordPress site.

Run the Migration

  1. Open your new site's Info > Import Your Existing Website.
  2. Select One-click migration using Sparkforge Migrator Plugin and download the zip.
  3. On your existing WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add Plugin and upload the zip.
  4. From the WordPress dashboard, click LC Migrator and sign in to Sparkforge.
  5. Pick your destination site from the dropdown.
  6. Click Start Migration and watch progress.
  7. When it completes, click View Your New Website.

Option 2: All-in-One WP Migration

Use this if LC Migrator doesn't fit your setup.

  1. Set up the destination site the same way as Option 1.
  2. Under Import Your Existing Website, select All-in-One WP Migration plugin.
  3. Click Get Plugin > Download, or install from your WordPress admin's plugin search.
  4. In the plugin, click Export Site > Export to > File and download the export.
  5. In Sparkforge, drag the export file into the upload box.
  6. Click Request for Migration. Sparkforge handles the rest.

Clone Between Sub-Accounts

To move a Sparkforge-hosted WordPress site to a different sub-account without taking it offline:

  1. Open Sites > WordPress in agency view.
  2. Click Clone, or open the source site and choose Clone.
  3. Pick the destination sub-account.
  4. Confirm the source site and name the clone.
  5. Click Clone and monitor until status shows Completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my original WordPress site go offline during migration?
No. LC Migrator runs in the background, and All-in-One WP Migration only copies an export file. Your source site stays live.
Does Sparkforge migrate plugins and themes too?
Yes. Both methods carry over plugins, themes, content, and media. Some host-specific plugins may need reconfiguration.
How long does migration take?
LC Migrator finishes most sites in under 30 minutes. Larger sites with heavy media take longer. All-in-One varies by export size.
Can I migrate a WooCommerce store?
Yes. Both methods preserve WooCommerce data. Reconnect payment gateways and test orders after the migration completes.
