Generate Leads from Hosted Videos with Timestamp-Locked Forms
Lock any hosted video at a chosen timestamp so viewers see a form they have to fill in to keep watching. Drop the leads straight into your CRM. Works only with hosted videos, not video popups.
Hosted videos in Sparkforge can pause at a timestamp you choose and show a form. Viewers fill in the form to keep watching. The data lands in your CRM, ready for follow-up.
What This Is For
- Restricted viewing: gate the second half of a webinar, training, or sales pitch.
- Lead capture: turn long-form video content into a lead magnet.
- Course sign-ups: lock the most useful section to drive registrations.
- Video funnels: combine your video with a branded form for a complete capture flow.
Set Up the Timestamp Lock
- In the builder, add the Video element and pick Hosted Video.
- Toggle on Generate leads from video.
- Enter the timestamp (hours, minutes, or seconds) where the form should appear.
- Select the form to display.
- Decide whether viewers can close the form and keep watching, or whether they must submit to continue.
Rules and Limits
- Only hosted videos support timestamp tracking. YouTube, Vimeo, and other embeds won't work.
- The lock doesn't show inside video popups — overlays would conflict.
- Once a viewer submits the form for a specific video, the lock skips for that viewer for two weeks. They get uninterrupted playback during that window.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up the timestamp lock?
Add a hosted video element, toggle on 'Generate leads from video', enter the timestamp where the form should appear, and pick the form.
Can viewers skip the form?
Only if you enable 'Allow user to close the form and continue'. Leave it off and viewers must submit to keep watching.
Does this work with YouTube or Vimeo embeds?
No. The feature requires hosted videos because that's the only video type that supports timestamp tracking.
What if a viewer already submitted the form?
The lock won't fire again for that viewer for two weeks, so they can rewatch without re-submitting.
Can I use this inside a video popup?
No. Timestamp-locked forms aren't supported in popup video elements because the overlays would conflict.
