Click-to-Call, Text, and Email Links in Sparkforge Funnels

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Use tel:, sms:, and mailto: link formats on text, then use the button’s Link to dropdown for buttons. Both work on funnels and websites and pair with Trigger Links for tracking.

Click-to-call, click-to-text, and click-to-email links open the user’s phone dialer, SMS app, or email client with one tap. They’re especially effective on mobile, where typing a number or copy-pasting an email kills conversion.

Why They Matter

  • One tap to contact. No typing, no copying.
  • Mobile-first. Highest engagement on phone-sized screens.
  • Pre-filled fields. Number, recipient, and even subject line populate automatically.
  • Trigger Link compatible. Track clicks and fire follow-up workflows.
  • Works on text and buttons. Add to either element type.

Tracking and Fallbacks

Wrap the link in a Trigger Link to count clicks and fire workflow actions (lead status updates, follow-up texts, internal notifications). Always include a visible phone number or email next to the button so desktop users without a default mail or SMS client can still reach you.

FAQ

Common click-to-action questions below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I track clicks on a click-to-call link?
Yes. Wrap the link in a Trigger Link and the click fires a workflow trigger. Use it to log lead engagement or send a follow-up text.
What happens on desktop if there’s no SMS client?
Nothing happens on click. Always pair the link with a visible phone number or email so desktop users can copy it.
Can a single link do both call and text?
No. Each link triggers one protocol. Use side-by-side buttons to offer both options.
Can I link an image or icon to a phone number?
Yes. Hyperlink any image or icon using the same tel:, sms:, or mailto: formats. Useful for visual CTAs in headers or footers.
Do I need the country code in tel: links?
Use full E.164 format (e.g., +14155551212) for the most reliable behavior across countries and carriers.
