Auto Pilot Mode in Sparkforge Conversation AI

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Auto Pilot lets the Sparkforge Conversation AI bot answer inbound SMS, Facebook, and Instagram messages without a human in the loop, collecting incoming messages first and routing toward a booked appointment.

Auto Pilot is the fully automatic mode for the Sparkforge Conversation AI bot. The bot replies to inbound messages on its own across SMS, Facebook, and Instagram, with the goal of booking an appointment.

Enable Auto Pilot

  1. Open Sub-account Settings > Conversation AI.
  2. Go to the Bot Settings tab.
  3. Set the mode to Auto Pilot.
  4. Pick which channels the bot should run on (SMS, Facebook, Instagram).

How Auto Pilot behaves

  • Message batching. The bot waits a configured window (1 second to 5 minutes; default 2 minutes) before replying, so it can group multiple incoming messages into one response.
  • Channels. SMS, Facebook, and Instagram. Channels are toggled in Bot Settings.
  • Sleep on human takeover. If a human or a workflow sends a manual message into the conversation, the bot sleeps for 2 hours.
  • Message cap. Defaults to 10 bot messages per conversation. After the cap, the bot sleeps. Mark the conversation as Read to wake it back up.
  • Appointment-first. The bot sends the booking link tied to the configured calendar as the path to conversion.
  • Feedback. Every bot reply has thumbs-up / thumbs-down buttons that feed training data back to the bot.

Advanced settings

  • Business name. Sets how the bot refers to your company.
  • Wait time before responding. 1 second to 5 minutes. Longer windows let the bot batch related messages; shorter windows feel more responsive.
  • Maximum message limit. Default 10. Lower it to force human escalation sooner; raise it for longer back-and-forth.

Training

Train the bot on URLs (your website, FAQ pages) or on FAQ pairs you write yourself. Bot training and the trial run are free. Once Auto Pilot or Suggestive mode is active, replies cost five cents per generation.

Pricing

Training and trial: free. Live generations in Suggestive or Auto Pilot mode: $0.05 each. An unlimited usage plan is in development.

Frequently Asked Questions

What channels does Auto Pilot work on?
SMS, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram DMs. Channels are toggled individually in the Bot Settings tab.
What happens if a human replies in the conversation?
The bot sleeps for 2 hours when a manual or workflow-driven message hits the conversation. This gives the human room to take over without the bot stepping on the response.
Why does the bot stop replying after 10 messages?
There is a default cap of 10 bot messages per conversation to prevent runaway threads. Mark the conversation as Read to wake the bot back up, or raise the limit in advanced settings.
Can the bot book appointments directly?
Yes. Auto Pilot's primary goal is appointment bookings — the bot sends the scheduling link tied to your selected calendar inside the conversation.
What does Auto Pilot cost?
Training and trial runs are free. Live generations in Auto Pilot or Suggestive mode are $0.05 each. An unlimited plan is coming.
