How to Manage Tasks in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Tasks List View in Sparkforge gives you filtering, sorting, and bulk actions for every task in your account, including standalone contact-less tasks created by workflows.

Tasks in Sparkforge live under Contacts > Tasks. The list view supports advanced filtering, sorting, bulk actions, and tasks that exist with or without a linked contact.

Open the Tasks list

From the main menu, go to Contacts > Tasks. Filtering, sorting, and bulk actions sit at the top of the list.

Create a task

  1. Click + Add Task in the top-right corner.
  2. Enter a Title and an optional Description (rich text supported).
  3. Set Due Date and Time.
  4. Toggle Recurring Task for a custom repeat schedule.
  5. Optionally pick a Contact and an Assignee.
  6. Click Save, or Save and Add Another to keep going.

If no contact is assigned at runtime, the task is created as a standalone contact-less task. If a contact is present, the task attaches to that record automatically.

Edit, delete, and bulk-update

  • Edit: Click the pencil icon in the Actions column or click the task title.
  • Delete: Select a task and click Delete. Deleted tasks can be restored within two months.
  • Bulk actions: Select multiple tasks to mark as done or delete in one pass.

Contact-less tasks

Workflows can create tasks without a contact. Filter by Contact = Unassigned to find them, then add Assignee or Due filters to narrow further.

Advanced filters

  • Assignee
  • Status (All, Due Today, Overdue, Upcoming)
  • Due Date
  • Custom fields, when applicable

Sorting

Sort by Due Date, Title, Created At, or Updated At from the Sort menu.

Schedule a workflow task at a specific time

Use the Add Task workflow action and switch Due In to Dynamic Mode. You can then enter a literal date and time (for example, 05-30-2025 03:00 PM) or pull from a custom value or dynamic variable.
