Sparkforge Rebilling, Reselling, and Wallets Explained
Wallets pre-load credits to pay for usage (calls, SMS, email, AI). Rebilling pushes those usage costs (with optional markup) to your sub-accounts. Reselling does the same for fixed-price services like WhatsApp or Yext.
Sparkforge bills usage-based services — calls, SMS, email, AI — out of a pre-loaded wallet. Agencies can recover those costs (and add margin) by rebilling sub-accounts. The same mechanism powers reselling of fixed-price services. This article explains how each piece fits together.
Definitions at a Glance
- Wallet: a pre-loaded balance of credits charged to the card on file. Usage deducts from the wallet; auto-recharge tops it up.
- Rebilling: charging your sub-account for usage you incurred from Sparkforge, optionally with a markup.
- Reselling: offering fixed-price services (WhatsApp, Yext, WordPress, Conversation AI) to sub-accounts at your own price.
How the Wallet Works
When the agency activates any usage-based service, Sparkforge creates an Agency Wallet. The card on file is charged to seed the wallet. Usage deducts from the balance.
When the balance drops below the configured threshold, the wallet auto-recharges by charging the card a preset amount. If a wallet hits zero or goes negative, services on that wallet pause until a successful payment lands.
The Agency Wallet is always charged for sub-account usage. Rebilling is what passes that cost down to the sub-account.
Wallet rules to keep in mind
- Wallets are pre-loaded; usage deducts from the balance.
- Auto-recharge thresholds and reload amounts are configured under Agency View > Settings > Company Billing.
- Sparkforge always charges the agency. With rebilling enabled, your Agency Stripe charges the sub-account.
- If the primary card fails, Sparkforge will try previously stored cards on the customer record. Remove old cards from your Agency Stripe customer object if needed.
Rebilling Scenarios
1. No rebilling
Only the Agency Wallet is charged. The agency absorbs the cost of every sub-account's usage. Auto-recharge tops the wallet from the agency card.
2. Rebilling without markup
Available on the $297 and $497 plan. The Agency Stripe charges the sub-account at the same Sparkforge cost. Cost recovery, no profit. Each sub-account gets its own Sub-Account Wallet on the same auto-recharge model.
3. Rebilling with markup
Available on the $497 plan. You set a marked-up price per service. Usage charges the Agency Wallet first, then your Agency Stripe charges the sub-account at the marked-up rate to refill the Sub-Account Wallet. The spread is your margin.
Setting Up Rebilling
Prerequisite: connect your Agency Stripe under Agency Settings.
Existing sub-accounts
- Agency View > Sub-Accounts.
- Find the sub-account, click the three-dot menu, choose Switch to SaaS.
- Have the sub-account add a valid card under Sub-Account Company Billing.
- Open Manage on the sub-account and enable rebilling (and markup, on Pro).
New sub-accounts via SaaS Configurator ($497 plan)
In the SaaS Configurator, edit the plan and turn on rebilling with markup. Every sub-account created from that plan gets rebilling configured by default.
How Reselling Works
Reselling covers fixed-price services — WhatsApp Business subscription, Yext, WordPress hosting, Conversation AI add-ons, marketplace apps. You have two paths:
Direct deployment
You activate the service for the sub-account and absorb the cost. The Agency Card is charged at the Sparkforge price; the sub-account is not billed.
Resell with optional markup
You set an Agency Price (your price). Sparkforge charges the agency the wholesale cost. Your Agency Stripe charges the sub-account the Agency Price on a recurring schedule. The difference is your profit.
Configure under Agency View > Reselling. Each service shows the Sparkforge price, your price, and the resulting profit per period.
Agency Wallet Usage Notifications
Set thresholds so you get alerted when a sub-account's usage spikes.
- Agency View > Billing > Notifications > Wallet.
- Enable the feature and add a condition (threshold + frequency).
- Optionally add admin emails. The owner is always notified.
Notifications are scoped per sub-account, sent at most once per day, and calculated against usage from the start of the selected period (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly).

Common Questions
How do I update the agency wallet or payment method?
Agency View > Settings > Billing. Edit the reload amount, the threshold, or the card.
Why is my wallet not reloading?
Almost always a card issue: wrong address, bank flagging the charge, or 3DS-only cards (which auto-recharge does not support). Check the Stripe customer for failed charges and have the cardholder contact their bank.
What happens if the wallet hits zero?
Usage-based services pause. A successful charge has to land before service resumes.
What about Stripe processing fees on Agency Stripe?
Standard Stripe processing applies to every charge through Agency Stripe. See Stripe's pricing for current rates.
