How to Use Advanced Preview and Shareable Links for Meta Ads

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge Ad Manager's Advanced Preview shows how a Meta ad will render across every placement and flags incompatibilities. After publishing, copy a shareable preview link to send the rendered ad to teammates or stakeholders.

Before a Meta ad goes wide, you want to see how it actually looks across Facebook, Instagram, Reels, and the rest. Sparkforge Ad Manager's Advanced Preview pulls the official Meta preview interface so you can verify placements without leaving the campaign builder.

Open Advanced Preview

  1. Go to Marketing > Ad Manager in the sub-account.
  2. Open the Meta campaign you want to review.
  3. Drill into the Ad Set and select the specific Ad.
  4. Find the Preview panel on the right side of the builder.
  5. Click the Advanced Preview icon.

The preview opens in a new tab and loads Meta's preview interface across the placements configured for the campaign. Scroll through to verify rendering on each one.

How Placement Errors Show Up

Advanced Preview tries to render the ad in every placement set on the campaign. If a placement doesn't support the creative format, Meta returns an error message inside the preview explaining why. You see compatibility issues without bouncing out to Meta Ads Manager.

Generate a Shareable Preview Link

The shareable link is only available for published campaigns. It will not appear for ads in Draft or Paused status.

  1. Open the published Meta campaign in Ad Manager.
  2. Drill to the Ad level.
  3. Find the Preview panel.
  4. Click the link icon next to the Advanced Preview button.

The link copies to your clipboard. Paste it wherever you need to share the ad.

What Recipients See

Opening the link loads the Meta-hosted preview interface in a new browser tab. Viewers see the ad creative across the configured placements, exactly as it would appear on Meta surfaces.

Access Permissions

The shareable preview follows Meta's ad account permission model. Only users with appropriate access to the underlying Meta ad account can view the preview. This keeps internal review fast without exposing the ad to users who shouldn't see it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't the shareable link option appear?
The link is only available for published campaigns. Ads in Draft or Paused status won't show it.
Can I preview a paused campaign?
You can use Advanced Preview on any campaign you can open in Ad Manager. The shareable link itself requires the campaign to be published.
Why does my preview show an error on a specific placement?
Meta returned an error because the placement doesn't support the creative format you uploaded. Adjust the creative or remove that placement.
Who can open the shareable preview link?
Only people with appropriate permissions on the underlying Meta ad account.
Does the preview show the live performance of the ad?
No. It shows how the ad will render. Performance metrics live in Ad Manager and Meta Ads Manager.
