Event Calendars in Sparkforge: Setup and Differences
Event Calendars in Sparkforge handle bookings that don't need a host — conferences, seminars, expos, public sessions. Because no user is assigned, dynamic Zoom/Meet/Teams links and conflict calendars don't apply; use a static link in the meeting location.
Event Calendars are for shared events where the booking belongs to the calendar itself, not a specific staff member. They are the simplest calendar type to launch in Sparkforge — set the schedule, share the link, and attendees register.
What Event Calendars Do Well
- No host required: Bookings sit on the calendar, not on a user.
- Fast setup: No need to map a staff member's availability or connected calendar.
- Shareable booking page: Use the dedicated link or embed code for a registration page.
- Flexible meeting location: Add a physical address or paste a static virtual meeting link.
- Targeted external sync: Bookings sync only to the calendar selected for that Event Calendar.
How They Differ from Other Calendar Types
Event Calendars behave differently from personal and team calendars. Read these before setup so you don't run into surprises.
- No users are assigned, so meetings cannot be routed to a team member.
- Dynamic meeting link tools (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) are not supported. Paste a static conferencing link into the meeting location instead.
- Bookings do not sync to user calendars from Calendar Settings > Connections.
- Conflict calendars set under Calendar Settings > Connections are ignored.
- Bookings sync only to the calendar selected under External Sync for that Event Calendar.
- Only one Google Calendar can be connected via External Sync.
When to Use Event Calendars
- Conferences, expos, and seminars.
- Workshops and public training sessions.
- Any shared booking where the event itself is the focus.
If you need bookings routed to a specific person, use a personal or team calendar instead.
Setup Notes
- Pick the External Sync calendar carefully — it's the only calendar that will receive bookings.
- Test the booking link in an incognito window before sending it out.
- If you switch the meeting platform later, update the static link on the calendar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I assign an Event Calendar booking to a team member?

Do Zoom or Google Meet links work with Event Calendars?
Not as dynamic links. Copy a static conferencing link from your meeting platform and paste it into the meeting location field.
Will my conflict calendar block bookings?
No. Conflict calendars added under Calendar Settings > Connections are not considered for Event Calendars.
Where do bookings sync to?
Only the calendar you select under External Sync for that Event Calendar. Other connected calendars are not used.
Can I connect multiple Google Calendars?
Only one Google Calendar can be connected via External Sync per Event Calendar.
