Enable Email Verification in Sparkforge with Mailgun

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Email verification uses Mailgun to check email validity when contacts enter your CRM and re-checks every 90 days. It costs $0.012 per email and is toggled on per-subaccount from the agency view.

Email verification keeps your contact list clean by checking each address against Mailgun's records the moment it enters Sparkforge. Once enabled, it also re-verifies every contact every 90 days because deliverability shifts over time.

What email verification costs

Mailgun charges $0.012 per verification, billed directly to the Mailgun account connected to your agency. Sparkforge does not mark up the price. Check your Mailgun pricing page for the latest rate.

Enable email verification on a subaccount

  1. Click Switch to Agency View.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Click Email Services and navigate to Location Settings.
  4. Find the subaccount you want and toggle Email Verification on.

Enable 90-day re-verification

  1. From agency view, open Sub-Accounts.
  2. Search for the subaccount by name and click into it.
  3. Scroll to Email Advanced Settings.
  4. Enable Re-verification for 90 days.

How verification triggers

Sparkforge verifies an email when a contact:

  • Submits a form, survey, or calendar booking.
  • Starts a chat through the chat widget.
  • Receives a new email after verification was enabled (first send only).

With re-verification on, every contact's email is rechecked on the 90-day mark.

Reading verification status

Open a contact record and click the envelope icon on the right-hand panel.

  • Green — valid and deliverable.
  • Red — invalid, too old, previously bounced, or unsubscribed. Mailgun returns the specific reason.

When to enable it

Turn it on when bounce rates climb past 2%, when you import a large external list, or when you start running cold outreach. Skip it on small lists where every contact came in through a verified opt-in form — the per-check cost adds up.
